I know it’s not officially summer yet, but the sun was seriously out until 8:30 last night. I love it so much! For my first day back in Atlanta, the weather was pretty gloomy in the afternoon. We had a little rain for a couple hours – I felt I was back in Florida where there are afternoon showers pretty much daily in the summer.

Of course after being out of town for almost a week, I had a lot to do when I got back. I decided to just throw on some jean shorts and this striped top. I wanted a jacket to repel the water in case it rained while I was out, so I added this faux leather jacket. Of course I had to elevate the look a little with some heels.

I like how this look turned out, but for some reason lately I keep feeling like I have nothing to wear. I think I need more simple summer basics in solid/neutral colors. I’m not always in the mood for certain prints or bright colors. My growing collection of pendant necklaces is helping, but I’d love some suggestions for summer staples!
