Seasonal transitions are always the toughest to dress for. Not only is the weather usually unpredictable, but it’s so hard to get the right vibe going. Right now, it’s not really time for sunhats and bikinis, but we’re also not ready for sweaters and boots. So what’s a girl to wear during this time? I shared another look last week for that summer to fall in between time and now I think I found a dress that works pretty perfectly!

About a month ago I was shopping at alice + olivia. I wanted something summery since August was just beginning. But of course all the new fall arrivals were already in store and there were basically no summer items left. One of the employees picked this dress off the rack for me. I thought it was pretty cute, but definitely wouldn’t have grabbed it for myself. I tried it on anyway and fell in love.

I actually wore this same hat out shopping this day which might be what sold me on the dress. The length and fabric of the dress works for summer, but the colors help bring the look into fall. I can totally wear this with some fab black fringe boots and throw on a leather jacket as it gets cooler, which I love. I will definitely get a lot of wear out of this one, now and well into fall!
