One of the biggest summer trends season after season is the nautical look. Almost everyone loves to go boating in the summertime and it is always fun to jazz up your look for the occasion. And if you can’t be out on the water, why not pretend and dress the part?
If you’re aiming for nautical nonchalance, stripes are a must. The color scheme is obvious: Americana red, white and blue. But you don’t have to look like an American flag to pull off the look. Personally, I adore navy horizontal stripes, but the most important thing about wearing stripes is to make sure they are flattering (follow this guide). Gold jewelry elevates the look from southern BBQ to Hamptons chic.
For beauty, add some pigment to your pout and don’t overdo the eye makeup. Let the focus be on your colored lips. As for your hair, try a top knot or if you’re feeling casual, go for beach waves and a floppy hat.
