I just love a fun day with friends where our biggest worry is which cocktail to order. And that’s exactly what I did this past weekend in Buckhead. Now I’ll be honest, I am not a Buckhead girl. I prefer to spend my time more in the heart of Atlanta in Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park, Grant Park, etc. But when Gypsy Kitchen reached out to invite me to brunch, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and explore Atlanta a little bit more. Plus, free food. So I invited some friends to join me and we started out our Sunday Funday.

One of my favorite features of the brunch at Gypsy Kitchen was the bloody mary bar. It was amazing! There were so many options, all clearly labeled for level of spiciness. I, of course, made mine spicy as can be. It was delicious! Ok, fine, I made it a 3/5 spiciness. The food was great and I was very pleased with the friendly staff. I’ll definitely be back for brunch there! After brunch, we headed over to The Painted Duck for some duckpin bowling. It was so much fun! Duckpin bowling is a style of bowling where the ball is smaller and just five pounds, and the bowling pins are smaller and fatter. It was hard at first, but once we got the hang of it, we had a blast! There were tons of other games there, food, and a full bar including a tasty glittering drink called the glam pop! It was a little sweet for me but oh so pretty.

We ended the night at the Optimist, one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I always get the kale salad (with no chorizo) and dream about it for days after – it’s just that good! My friend got the octopus and that was delicious. It was seriously the perfect day. Here in Atlanta, people aren’t as social in the winter even though it doesn’t get that cold. It was so nice to get out and have such a fun, carefree day. Who says brunch isn’t just as great in the winter?!

For our Sunday Funday, I wore my new red printed kimono I got on sale just the other day. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it. Styling it was another story though. I originally planned to wear it Saturday night, and I just couldn’t find the right balance between casual and girls night out, so after a couple hours of trying to make it work, I eventually gave up and wore a bodysuit and my Spanx leggings.

I was determined to wear it on Sunday and put together this look within like 5 minutes. Sometimes you just have to wait until it’s the right time to wear a special piece like this! It was a hit too. I got tons of compliments on the outfit and I can’t wait to wear it again. It feels like a fall outfit to me, but it worked in the 50-degree weather over the weekend. I didn’t even need a coat! The contrast between the black shirt & OTKs with the bright red kimono was perfect. I hardly ever wear necklaces, but this outfit was just calling for one. Finally, when I added the hat, it was all perfectly pulled together.
