I finally went on my first cruise! I was invited by Royal Caribbean to go on a media preview sailing of their newest ship, the Symphony of the Seas. I’ve always heard that what makes a cruise is the ship, so I knew this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. Although the cruise was a super short 36 hours, I did get to experience a little bit of what a cruise is like.

The Symphony of the Seas is an incredible ship. In fact, it’s the largest cruise ship ever! And if you know anything about being out on the water, the bigger the ship, the less you feel the rocking. Since I had never been on a cruise before, I was worried about how I’d feel. And I was right to be. I got seasick on the cruise. I wasn’t throwing up and laying in bed the whole time or anything, but it did get to me one night and I had to skip dinner with the girls.

Speaking of girls though, I have to say, it was the perfect girls trip. Our rooms were big enough to hang out in and get ready and we had so much fun exploring the ship together. We even made a new friend that was traveling solo!

The ship docked in Nassau early on the first morning of the cruise. We had 4-5 hours to walk around, go to the beach, and have some fun in the Bahamas. It was a very touristy area (of course), but we were able to walk to Junkanoo beach which was nice. If you remember my posts from earlier this year, you know I love the Bahamas. For our carefree beach day, I wore my super cute Triya wave one piece. Isn’t it adorable?!

Overall, it was a fun time, but I don’t think I’d go on a cruise that’s shorter than 5 days. The 3-day/2-night thing was just way too short!

Have you ever been on a cruise? How did you like it?
