twin falls maui, twin falls fruit stand, road to hana, best stops on road to hana

One of the most popular stops on the famous Road to Hana road trip is Twin Falls. Although we didn’t do the full road to Hana due to weather and limited time, we did make it to Twin Falls during our visit to Maui. Like I said, the weather wasn’t ideal, so I think some of the waterfalls were closed for safety, but we did make it to one where we could swim, and it was amazing!

When you first park at Twin Falls, there is a fruit stand where you can buy coconuts and other snacks. We of course had to get some for ourselves before heading to the falls. It was the perfect photo opp! On top of my bathing suit, I wore my new white denim skirt and my aloha shirt I bought at a boutique in Paia, which is about 15-20 minutes away from the falls. Then I found out about the hiking thing and changed, haha!

Getting to the falls is not easy and we were definitely not wearing the right shoes. I ended up taking mine off and just went barefoot. Not only do you have to go down a muddy hill, but you also have to walk through a stream full of slippery rocks. It wasn’t that hard, but it’s good to know ahead of time, because I certainly didn’t!

Once we got to the falls, it was absolutely stunning. There is this little swimming area at the base of the waterfall that is just beyond stunning. We had the area to ourselves for a good 30 minutes and it was divine! I would absolutely recommend stopping here if you’re in Maui. It was one of the most gorgeous sites I’ve ever seen in person!
