Twin Falls Maui

One of the most popular stops on the famous Road to Hana road trip is Twin Falls. Although we didn’t do the full road to Hana due to weather and limited time, we did make it to Twin Falls during our visit to Maui. Like I said, the weather wasn’t ideal, so I think some of the waterfalls were closed for safety, but we did make it to one where we could swim, and it was amazing!
When you first park at Twin Falls, there is a fruit stand where you can buy coconuts and other snacks. We of course had to get some for ourselves before heading to the falls. It was the perfect photo opp! On top of my bathing suit, I wore my new white denim skirt and my aloha shirt I bought at a boutique in Paia, which is about 15-20 minutes away from the falls. Then I found out about the hiking thing and changed, haha!
Getting to the falls is not easy and we were definitely not wearing the right shoes. I ended up taking mine off and just went barefoot. Not only do you have to go down a muddy hill, but you also have to walk through a stream full of slippery rocks. It wasn’t that hard, but it’s good to know ahead of time, because I certainly didn’t!
Once we got to the falls, it was absolutely stunning. There is this little swimming area at the base of the waterfall that is just beyond stunning. We had the area to ourselves for a good 30 minutes and it was divine! I would absolutely recommend stopping here if you’re in Maui. It was one of the most gorgeous sites I’ve ever seen in person!

Great shots girl!!!!!!! You all look amazing! My nephew is getting stationed in Hawaii next month so hopefully we are going to visit in the near future! My favorite waterfall BTW is La Mina in the Yunque in Puerto Rico! Definitely a must visit! Takes about 30 minutes hike to get there but so worth it!

Yes it’s actually a lot worse than what you see in the media. The problem now is because of all of the debris and trash that is not getting disposed of there is a rat infestation and they carry a ton of viruses so they are urging people to get tons of vaccinations …….It sucks not being able to help our family there and knowing that they are suffering like crazy!
We want to go back to visit and help out but we can’t either till things get more back to normal….and who knows that could take years.
Although whenever you do travel there let me know …..because of the fact we have so much family there I have a huge list of “hudden gem” places that mostly only locals know about 🙂
El Arbol Solitario
Finca de Girasoles
Parque de la Ceiba
Isla Guilligan
Just to name a few!
