Unforgettable Girls’ Trip at Wylder Windham Hotel: Exploring Upstate New York’s Charming Retreat

Embarking on a girls’ trip is always an exciting adventure, and our recent getaway to Wylder Windham Hotel in Windham, NY, was an absolute dream. From the breathtaking beauty of upstate New York to the luxurious amenities and charming accommodations, our experience at this boutique hotel was nothing short of unforgettable. Accompanied by my fellow Babes, Greta and Iesha, we immersed ourselves in the beauty of the Catskills and indulged in the amenities of this boutique hotel. Join us as we share the highlights of our 3-night, 4-day journey filled with delightful dining, exciting activities, and wonderful moments of relaxation.

 

Getting there

I recommend flying into either Newark or Albany. Newark is about a 2-hour drive and Albany is a 1-hour drive. We opted for an adventurous road trip from Philadelphia, where Iesha lives, which took us about 4 hours. No matter where you fly into, you’re pretty much guaranteed a mini road trip to get to Wylder Windham. We were lucky enough to partner with Lexus for the new NX 350h Luxury AWD and it was amazing. We were so comfortable the entire time and were able to make a pit stop to take in the gorgeous view of three different states! What stood out to me the most was the huge screen. We all loved it!

Accommodations at the Farm House

Upon arriving at Wylder Windham, we were thrilled to discover that we would be staying in the Farm House. This beautifully restored house proved to be a perfect accommodation option for our group. With four spacious rooms, each featuring a comfortable king bed, we felt right at home. The Farm House also boasts a formal dining room, a cozy living room with a wood-burning fireplace, and a fully stocked kitchen, allowing us to gather, share meals, and create cherished memories together.

Dinner Delights at Babbler’s Restaurant

Our culinary journey began with an exquisite dinner at Babbler’s Restaurant, conveniently located at Wylder Windham Hotel. This charming eatery offers a delightful menu of American-style cuisine and the service is great (shout out to Courtney!). However, the true highlight was the exceptional cocktail selection. Sheena, the talented bartender, wowed us with her skills and crafted the most incredible old fashioned I’ve ever tasted. The combination of delectable dishes and expertly crafted cocktails made for an unforgettable dining experience.

Breakfast Indulgences at Babblers Bakery

Mornings at Wylder Windham started on a delicious note with breakfast at Babblers Bakery. The bakery offered a variety of tempting options, from breakfast sandwiches to freshly baked goods. We couldn’t resist savoring their specialty coffee creations, including the refreshing iced lavender oat milk latte, which became my go-to morning treat. The convenience and quality of the bakery made our mornings easy and enjoyable.

Cocktail Making Class at Babblers

One of the highlights of our trip was the cocktail making class at Babblers, led by Sheena. With the freedom to choose our preferred cocktails, we all opted for tequila-based drinks. I personally ventured into the world of spicy watermelon margaritas, a delightful blend of flavors that perfectly complemented the lively atmosphere of the class. It was a delightful experience that showcased our collective sense of adventure and appreciation for finely crafted cocktails.

Unwinding with Summer Fridays at Wylder Pool

Under the warm rays of the sun, Greta, Iesha, and I couldn’t resist the allure of Summer Fridays at the Wylder pool. The pool area provided a refreshing oasis where we could unwind and indulge in moments of relaxation. With a talented DJ setting the mood from 2 pm to 5 pm, we found ourselves immersed in a vibrant atmosphere, basking in the sun and savoring delicious treats from Babbler’s Restaurant. It was just what we needed on a beautiful Friday afternoon.

Pickleball Fun

Playing pickleball for the first time at Wylder Windham Hotel was an unexpected highlight of our girls’ trip. With the picturesque views surrounding the pickleball courts, we couldn’t resist trying our hand at this popular and exciting sport. I’m not surprised it’s become so popular lately! It was a joyful and energizing experience that allowed us to unleash our inner athletes while immersing ourselves in the tranquil ambiance of the hotel grounds. Whether you’re a seasoned pickleball player or a beginner like us, Wylder Windham offers the perfect setting to discover the joy of this fast-paced and addictive game.

S’mores Party by the Fire

As the evening descended, we gathered around the fire for a delightful S’mores Party. Wylder Windham had prepared an adorable tray of all the necessary ingredients, allowing us to create our own gooey, chocolatey treats. Armed with our favorite cocktails from dinner, we shared stories, laughter, and indulgent bites while reveling in the cozy warmth of the fire. It was a truly unforgettable evening that captured the essence of our girls’ trip.

What I Wore

 
We cannot go without mentioning the exceptional hospitality provided by Francesco, the assistant manager of Wylder Windham Hotel. His warm and welcoming nature added an extra layer of charm to our stay, making us feel truly valued and appreciated. Beyond the activities we enjoyed, the resort itself offers a wide array of amenities that cater to every need. From the breathtaking views to the overall tranquility and comfort of the property, Wylder Windham Hotel truly exceeded our expectations. To me, the best part was that you never really need to leave the property – they have everything you need right on site. Including mini saunas sprinkled throughout the property. So sad we didn’t have a chance to try those out!
