A Vibrant Mosaic

I don’t think we could have picked a better island to visit for my first trip to Hawaii. Kauai is known as the “Garden Isle” and I am not exaggerating when I say that the colors are so much brighter and more vibrant here. So of course I had to follow suit. I’m not usually one for colorful clothing, but it just seems so right here. So I picked up this fabulous Mara Hoffman dress and gorgeous from Mosaic, a boutique based out of Lake City, SC (which is near my next travel destination – yay!).
It’s funny that everything is so bright here because the personalities and overall vibe of the island literally could not be more laid-back. The first day we were here we were listening to the radio in our rental jeep and the dj got a birthday request for a Bruno Mars song. He spent about 5 minutes “looking” for the song (did he have cassettes or something? Who knows.) only to play a different Bruno Mars song. “I know it’s here somewhere. Hmmm…. Oh well. I’ll try again later.” he kept muttering. It was hilarious. Later he did attempt to play the song again to no avail. It was the perfect indication to the carefree lifestyle that the Kauai locals live.
It’s very hard for me to be carefree since I do run 3 businesses, but even just taking a small step back has been a fabulous break for me. I am still working (obviously, since I’m posting on my blog from here!), but with no design this week and Lauren managing Adorn duties, I’m definitely more carefree than I have been in the past few years. Yay to vacay!
Have you ever been to Kauai? Do you dig the island lifestyle?

You look amazing as always! I wish I was there right now not buried in 7 feet, literally, of snow with more on the way, we had a blizzard and then two storms a week of 12-18 inches since the blizzard,,,,,there’s no where to put it!
