Last weekend, I went to Napa for my second time. Napa is by far one of my favorite places in the US. The whole vibe is so friendly and relaxed. Everyone just wants to drink wine and talk about their passions. I really wanted to gift my bestie an experience for her birthday, so we did a trip to Napa when I came across an amazing flight deal (under $200 round trip on Delta!). It was me, my bestie, and her mom.
We set up the whole trip in advance, so day one was completely booked up. We actually ended up a little rushed even though we scheduled each tasting hours apart. I’ll have to make sure to include timing tips in my travel guide I’ll be posting next week.
Our first stop on Saturday was St. Supéry. We did the veggies and vino tasting, which I can’t recommend enough. I ended up ordering two bottles at the end of the tasting: rosé and sauvignon blanc. I’m totally a red wine drinker, but these were too good to pass up! We each drank a glass of rosé as we toured the estate, complete with fresh veggie and fruit gardens and of course, a lovely vineyard.
The next part of the tasting was in a private room where we were all served 4 small veggie dishes, each perfectly paired with a glass of wine. The food was so good that it rivaled the delicious wines. The wonderful chef, Britny, explained each dish to us. She uses fresh ingredients from the St. Supéry gardens and makes new recipes daily. It was incredible.
The next stop was Rutherford Hill. The tasting was actually inside a cave, which was really cool. We had a little sitting area that was a little secluded, which was nice. The wine wasn’t my favorite, but it was a cool and different experience. The last stop was Durant & Booth, which is just a tasting room (not a vineyard or winery). It is in an old house that was remodeled after a disastrous earthquake. It has a vintage library theme, which I really loved. The wine was absolutely delicious and the bottle labels are awesome. The art was created by a local artist to represent the different flavors of each wine. So cool, right?
Our first day in Napa was so awesome and the best way to start off the trip. Day 2 was maybe even better. Can’t wait to share more! As for my outfit, I went for a California cool look with this and . I wore my new summer on both days – so comfy and stylish!
Have you ever been to Napa?
