Winter Cabin Fever

I’ve admitted several times that I loathe going outside when it’s cold out. Seriously, cold weather is just NOT for me. But that definitely has its downsides. Since I work from home, I can be cooped up in my room for days on end that that gets old pretty fast. So sometimes Johnny and I will bundle up for a quick walk. Since he’s a photographer, we obvi take photos and make a whole thing of it.
Just stepping outside to get some fresh air and move my legs feels great and is certainly much needed after sitting at a desk (or let’s be honest, in bed) all day. Like I mentioned in my 2015 health goals post, getting moving is definitely something I need to work on. Plus I should probably try to start getting in shape for Hawaii.
{ olive trench ℅ Asos // LOFT sweater (sold out), similar // CURRENT/ELLIOTT coated denim (old), similar // lace up boots ℅ Off Broadway Shoes }
These photos were taken a while back, but this was from one of our walks that I haven’t had a chance to post yet. It’s a bit more color than I usually wear, but I was really feeling a fall look. These coated denim pants go perfectly with stripes since stripes are the best print ever.
What do you do to get relieve cabin fever in the winter?

I’m looooooving this outfit! I want to steal it right off you lol Id pair it with wedge booties or my similar brown boots.
I live in massachusetts where it’s so cold right now. As soon as 50 degree weather hits, me and the toddler are back outside walking in the stroller and going to parks for her. I hate cold weather also. It stinks because I love walking and when it’s so cold I can’t get any exercise from outside in..,, and workout DVDs are just not that motivating to me….
Well you look great as always! Stay warm!
January 19, 2015 @ 5:12 pm
Thanks!! I have some wedge booties too – good call on that! Oh man, I don’t think I would ever be able to live where it’s that cold! Anything below 50 I’m like crying under the covers in the fetal position hahah
January 15, 2015 @ 8:32 am
These boots are absolutely fantastic!! Love them!

I get really bad cabin fever after a while too. Right now I am a stay at home mom so sometimes, staying at home gets really old and I either go on a solo walk when my husband gets home or we all run around at a park. It really does help to get out and moving even if I really hate the cold
January 19, 2015 @ 5:14 pm
Yeah, I totally get that. I think I’m going to have to move somewhere warmer sooner rather than later. I really can’t take it any more.
January 15, 2015 @ 11:20 am
great cabin outfit! love the boots
January 19, 2015 @ 5:14 pm
Thank you! 🙂

Here in Upstate NY, it just recently got above 10 degrees. I like to make some hot tea and roll out my yoga mat and stretch myself out. Even though I’m not going outside, i’m getting my body moving. It feels nice to stretch everything out 🙂
January 19, 2015 @ 5:15 pm
Stretching is a really great idea! But I don’t know how you deal with that weather!!!! Kudos to you for fighting through it!
January 15, 2015 @ 12:03 pm

Lovin your boots
January 19, 2015 @ 5:15 pm
Thanks!
January 15, 2015 @ 1:21 pm
Great outfit with lovely, muted colours! Those boots are really chic. I wish there were lined winter boots that like that chic. Normally, as so as you add a thicker rubber sole and a lining, the chic rating hits rock bottom. I wonder why!!

January 19, 2015 @ 5:16 pm
Haha, I didn’t even know there was a difference in these boots vs winter boots. I really hope I never have to live in a place that requires winter boots!!!!
January 15, 2015 @ 1:38 pm
Love these photos! Super cute! 🙂
January 19, 2015 @ 5:16 pm
Thanks!

The boots are gorgeous, I love the way they lace up in the front. Then the long striped sweater with the brown jeans is right on cue. Deff an outfit you’d catch me wearing myself!! Love it!

Love this outfit and your whole vibe! Great post. I make myself go to the gym or walk to my nearest coffee shop or drugstore to run errands or pick up a little snack. Get some movement and air into my body
January 19, 2015 @ 5:17 pm
Good idea. I have a Target next door, so there’s always something to get over there!
January 15, 2015 @ 3:58 pm
Megan, I can totally sympathize with your cold intolerance as I too live with it. On the upside though, when else are we going to flaunt our lush coats and snazzy jackets! I’m loving the trench and the boots that you’re sporting!
January 19, 2015 @ 5:18 pm
Haha, that is the ONLY upside to it!! Glad I’m not alone 😉

Ahhh, yes I can totally relate to the cabin fever but you’re so right how getting bundled up and going for a short walk can make such a difference. I hate the cold too! Love your look here and the leather leggings and that coat are perfect. Stay warm 😉

Thank you! It has been slightly warmer here the past few days so I have been making an effort to get outside more. It’s just so hard when it’s cold out!!

Thank you!! And I don’t think so! You can totally pull it off 😉

We live in Indiana now and the winters are so harsh. I hate cold and most days it’s cold and raining or snow. I don’t like to get out in the cold but on sunny days I make myself. Staying inside all the time just gets you depressed. Love the outfits and boots.
January 19, 2015 @ 5:20 pm
Definitely true. I can’t figure out what’s worse though – the cold or staying inside all the time. Haha
January 16, 2015 @ 4:02 pm
I love love love those boots!
January 19, 2015 @ 5:20 pm
Thank you!!
January 16, 2015 @ 7:49 pm
Cabin fever = get out of the cabin! I don’t care if it is =20, I’ll just bundle up and get some fresh air. Even 30 minutes.
January 19, 2015 @ 5:21 pm
30 minutes in 20 degrees!!!! I don’t think I could ever do that lol.
January 16, 2015 @ 11:42 pm

Those jeans, like everyone else has been saying, are fantastic! I have to disagree and say that polka dots are the best pattern ever, but stripes are a very close second 🙂
January 28, 2015 @ 3:38 pm
Thanks!! They were a gift from a friend so I’ll have to tell her how much of a hit they are! I’m not a big polka dot fan, but I do enjoy the print sometimes! 🙂
January 21, 2015 @ 12:29 pm
I really love this Megan! Those pants are such a beautiful color and the boots are such a nice change of pace. Really beautiful pictures too!
