Well, there is no doubt that the winter weather has arrived in Atlanta. Y’all, this is brutal!! I’m talking thirty degrees lately! It has been sunny though and luckily not windy at all, so it is bearable in the sun, especially if you have a big warm coat like the one I’m wearing here.
One thing I always have a problem with in the winter is how to dress for a date night. I get so sick of the same old jeans and over the knee boots and sometimes I just want to show some skin! So I turned my closet upside down and came up with this. I was honestly surprised at how warm I was with just this coat and some booties. I had some socks on underneath, but still! I think a lot of it had to do with the Spanx I was wearing underneath this super thin bodycon dress! It was my first time wearing Spanx shapewear and it wasn’t that bad! I did take it off after these photos and before dinner because going to the bathroom in it was impossible, but I have to admit, it did look good! And definitely helped keep me warm.
I went with a lighter color palette instead of contrasting tones for an airy, feminine look. I did opt for my black crossbody instead of one of my white or pink bags to give just a touch of contrast. I felt like this look is very refreshing in a sea of all black winter ensembles. I might have to revisit this outfit near Valentine’s Day! Yep, I’m one of those girls who loves wearing shades of pink and red the whole month of February!
What’s your favorite date night look in the winter months?
