Work It

Another day, another trial. Just kidding, but I totally felt like a badass lawyer in this outfit. And the scenery definitely completes that vibe. Although I do work from home, I sometimes feel the need to dress up as the boss lady that I am. I run three businesses and doing that in my pajamas just doesn’t work sometimes.
On this morning, I was feeling particularly inclined to business-glam it up. I spotted this high-neck top in my closet and built the look around that. After deciding on the bag, I knew I had to keep the rest of it simple. So I went with black skinnies and the perfect black pump.
When I wear tops with a high neck, I almost always wear my hair up so I can show the details of the shirt. I could have gone with a bun, but I felt like that took the overall look to a level that was just too stuffy and sophisticated, so I threw it in a pony and called it a day.
I totally felt extra motivated once I had this outfit on. There’s just something about a businessy look that gets me in that mindset. I loved it!

I tend to go the other way around, where my mood influences what I wear. (Which isn’t the best when I’m lazy, but I’m currently attempting to master the art of lazy grooming – how to look put together with minimal, lazy effort.) Though outfits can certainly influence one’s feelings. I’ve had some costumes or outfits I’ve modeled and the ensemble can make or break the mood. Flat, sleek, leather riding boots are my go-to lazy, but put-together piece. They’d go well with the sleek pants you’re sporting in this post. 🙂
