Goodbye, Summer

I can’t believe it’s already the first day of fall! Here in the south, at a blistering 90 degrees, it still certainly feels like summer. But alas, today will be my last summer outfit post. I actually really love seasonal transitions. I think it’s fun to come up with an outfit that makes sense for both the temperature and the date, and I have a few of those transitional outfits coming to the blog within the next couple weeks. But for now, let’s focus on this summery ensemble.

I love being colorful in the summer. While it doesn’t make as much sense to wear blue, pink and green together during the other seasons, I think I pulled it off well in this look. I got this shirt at Target recently when I was grabbing some coffee. I got distracted in the clothing section and ended up spending way more than I had planned to. Oops, but who can blame me?

I had been wanting to wear these palm shorts for a while and I did sport them a few time this summer, but a white tee and printed shorts can get tired after a while. When I made this pairing, I was surprised, but I loved it. When I got this top, I pictured myself wearing it with white skinnies and wedges–which would be cute too–but I’m glad I did something different here.

 

 
But it did feel like something was missing. That’s when I grabbed my pink Tom Ford crossbody. I love pink with palm print, and the shirt I was wearing didn’t make me change my mind. In fact, I think it looks even better with all the pastels. I couldn’t be happier with this light and colorful summer look. I only wish I had found this shirt sooner so I could have worn it more often. Oh well, on to fall!
