I know I am not alone when I say that I absolutely love having long hair. It makes me feel feminine and pretty and youthful. But taking care of it can be a huge pain. It takes ages to wash, blow dry and style. I know it is all worth it, but who really has two hours to spend on their hair every day? I know I don’t.
Luckily, we are at a time in history and evolution where we no longer have to agonize over hair care. Enter the Long Sexy Hair line from Sexy Hair. Guys, they get us. They know what we need and they made it for us! I have tried tons of hair products and I admit that different brands are great for different hair textures and conditions. I use different shampoos and conditioners based on my needs for that day: Do I want to wear my hair naturally curly? Am I in extreme weather conditions? These are just a few things that can determine which hair products I want to use that day.
Long Sexy Hair is perfect for low maintenance on-the-go weeks. Thanks to the Luxe Blow Out and Luxe Detangler from Sexy Hair, I did not need to do anything but blow dry my hair. I did not use my flat iron or wand at all! And like I said, I have naturally curly hair. That is unheard of! And I seriously love how it turned out. All I did was use the shampoo and conditioner, add the two products I just mentioned, blow dry my hair, and twist it into a low bun for a few hours. And bam: flowing waves for days.
Speaking of, I am a huge advocate of infrequent hair washing. Ideally I wash my hair just twice a week. And that is totally doable with the Luxe line. It has been 4 days since I last washed my hair as I’m writing this (the photos are from day 3) and although I did wear my hair in a bun today, it still looked and smelled fresh. Now of course I did use some dry shampoo, but not until day 3. I was able to wear my hair down for almost four full days. Pretty awesome, right?
And the price point isn’t bad either. Everything in the Long Sexy Hair Luxe Line I have been using is under $20 in fact. I feel like there’s a misconception about hair brands. Yes, the expensive stuff is good too (sometimes), but to be honest, I have seen better results from brands that cost less than the outrageously overpriced stuff. Overall, I’ve found this line from Sexy Hair to be an awesome go-to for those days when I’m going for a carefree, natural waves look. Hey, who has to know those waves had a little help from products? At least I didn’t have to damage my hair with tons of heat!
What products do you use to care for your long hair? How long can you go without washing your hair?

I am soooo with you. I have waist length hair and people always ask if I would ever consider cutting it. Ummmm no. I know what works for me and I already know I would dislike short hair without needing to try it to find out.

I love curly hair, maybe because my hair is just sooooo straight. I’d love to have natural curls like yours. Don’t have any particular hair brand but I also choose my shampoo according to the condition I am in. Sometimes I do use dry shampoo but quite uncommon.
Megan
February 2, 2017 @ 10:37 pm
Thank you!! I never fully embraced my curls until recently! I love dry shampoo, but it can definitely cause build up so I don’t use it super frequently either.

Your hair texture looks amazing as it is and how the natural curls fall in abundance is a fab thing too. Am missing my longer hair length for now but with regards to hair products, I usually select them according to the current condition that my strands would be in too.

Your hair is amazing, my hair is in a odd in between. It’s too long to be mid length but too short to be long! I’m really undecided what to do with it. These products look great, anything that makes me get more days between washes is great. I used to wash my hair everyday but i’ve found something that works for me and can do 2 / 3 washes a week which was unheard of 12 months ago x

loveeee. & i love that you don’t wash that frequently. i just started trying to go longer than a day without washing it and i’m trying to figure out how to make my hair not as yuckyy… any recommendations on a dry shampoo to use? also, how frequently do you get your hair trimmed up to keep it healthy?

Good!! Once you get past that initial phase of easing into not washing it your hair totally produces less oil. I promise! It’ll become much easier. I love the Tresemme dry shampoo! I’ve tried tons of different kinds but that’s always my go-to. I don’t get my hair trimmed very often, probably every 6 months or so. But I’ve learned that not styling it as much and letting my hair just dry/style naturally makes SUCH a huge difference! <3
